Installation Note 32163: SIA1ALOC and SIA5INS1 installation jobs fail with JCL errors when run under JES3
Sites who run JES3 will receive JCL errors when running 2 of the installation jobs for SAS release 9.2 on z/OS. The first failure will be in the SIA1ALOC job, in the NEWALLOC job step. The problem is that there are 2 DDNames called SASXRGT. A similar failure will occur in the SIA5INS1 job, in the SASDLIB job step for the DDOTENTE DDName. The JCL error will be something simliar to the following:
DDNAME SASXRGT IS DUPLICATED WITHIN STEP
JOB SIA1ALOC (JOB12345) EXPRESS CANCELED BY INTERPRETER DSP
To circumvent the problem, change one of the duplicate DDNames in each job to a unique name and resubmit the SIA1ALOC job. The jobs can be found in a data set named prefix.Vnnnnnn.CNTL, where prefix is the high-level prefix you are using for your SAS 9.2 installation, and nnnnnn is the Julian date when you ran the installation wizard.
If you miss the JCL errors, another symptom you may notice later is that the data set prefix.BAMISC is empty.
